This is the last major sale on smartphones this year, so in case you missed out on all the big sales this year, now you have another chance. Flipkart’s Mobiles Bonanza sale will run until Saturday, December 29. The four-day Flipkart sale will offer discounts, bundled offers, payment offers, and more on a large selection of mobile phones. The Walmart-owned company has tied up with State Bank of India to offer 10 percent instant discount to its credit card users.

Sony WH-CH700N Noise-Cancelling Wireless Headphones Launched in India

Sony on Wednesday expanded its range of wireless, noise-cancelling headphones in India by launching the WH-CH700N. The Sony WH-CH700N wireless headphones are touted to be specifically designed for long hours of music playback. Sony has provided its Artificial Intelligence Noise Cancellation (AINC) technology that analyses background sound to adjust the performance in noisy environments. There is also a dedicated NC button to activate noise cancellation. The new headphones additionally come with voice assistant support. A built-in microphone is available to enable voice commands and hands-free voice calls. The Sony WH-CH700N headphones will be available for purchase through all Sony Centers and major electronics stores in the country with a price tag of Rs. 12,990.
Among other notable features, the Sony WH-CH700N headphones come with the AINC technology that helps deliver an optimal noise cancellation. There is also a dedicated ‘NC’ button to activate noise cancellation with a press and hold gesture. Further, there is a Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) feature to boost the quality of compressed music files.
The Sony WH-CH700N headphones have 40mm drivers that come with a sensitivity of 97dB/mW and enable a frequency response between 7Hz to 20,000Hz. Also, there is an impedance rating of 20 Ohms.
Sony has provided a built-in microphone on the WH-CH700N that helps enable hands-free voice calls and voice assistant commands. The headphones will also be optimised for Google Assistant through a software update.
In terms of wireless connectivity, the Sony WH-CH700N headphones have Bluetooth v4.1 and NFC. A detachable, single-sided type cable in 1.2-metre length is also bundled to enable music playback via a traditional 3.5mm jack.
Sony claims that on a single full charge, which is expected to take seven hours, the WH-CH700N are capable of delivering up to 35 hours of battery life (depending on music settings). There is also a Quick Charge technology that is touted to enable 60 minutes of playback in just 10 minutes of charge. Furthermore, users can use the supplied cable to listen to their favourite tracks for several hours and even extend the noise calling mode for up to 50 hours.
The Sony WH-CH700N headphones are designed to work with the Headphones Connect app that is available for Android and iOS devices. The proprietary app lets you tune the headphones as per your preferences.
OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T Now Receiving Android Pie-Based OxygenOS 9.0.0 Update

OnePlus 5₹ 32,999 and OnePlus 5T are now receiving their Android 9.0 Pie-based OyxgenOS update. Less than a fortnight after launching the open beta of the Android Pie-based OxygenOS 9.0.0 update for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T, the Chinese smartphone maker has released the final version of the Pie update for the two phones. The OxygenOS 9.0.0 update started rolling out on December 25 and will reach all OnePlus 5 and 5T owners over the next few days. Both smartphones were originally launched in 2017 with Android 7.1.1 Nougat on board. The beta of the Pie-based HydrogenOS was released in late November, and it appears no stable version has yet been released.
According to a post on the OnePlus’s official forum, the Android 9.0 Pie-based OxygenOS 9.0.0 update for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T is available over-the-air (OTA) and will be made ‘incrementally’ available – with only a small percentage of people getting it in the first 24 hours. The phone owners will automatically receive the OTA update notification but if you want to manually trigger an update search, you can head over to the System Update option in Settings.
As per the user reports in the company forum, the OxygenOS 9.0.0 update for the OnePlus 5 is 1742MB in size, whereas the OnePlus 5T update is of 1748MB.
OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T Android Pie update changelog
The Android Pie update changelog is slightly different from the beta version changelog, with the changes related to Parallel Apps, Weather and Communication missing. The latest update does include one extra feature that was not available to the beta users – Google Lens mode support in the camera application. It is possible that the missing upgrades will be added in the future software updates for the phones.
Among other upgrades, the OnePlus 5 and 5T users can expect to see Android Pie-specific base features like Adaptive Battery, Adaptive Brightness, App Times, and App Actions. Additionally, the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T phones are getting a new Gaming Mode 3.0, which includes new text notification mode and notification of third-party calls.
